I have a box of Golden Curry medium hot, but all the recipes I keep finding involve meat and next to nothing else. Suggestions?

Hello all! I'm Sarah, I live in Savannah, GA. I am here because, it was really nice to see that there are other vegetarians that actually watch there weight too...haha! Anyway, in the past when I was losing weight I was on South Beach. And in order for me to lose weight I had to eat meat. Well, I lost weight and then slacked off so here I am. I decided today that I was going to TRY and see about doing the whole veggie AND South Beach thing...together. I am determined. I want this to work. Then, I can both lose weight and still be a vegetarian. Which I really like for no other reason than for me. I like animals and all but, they aren't my reasoning for becoming vegetarian.
Anyway, I think I went a little nuts. I hope to make friends with you all and thank you for listening. Any ideas would be great!

Hi I'm Jo, from Perth, Austrlaia.
I've been vegetarian for about 4-5 months now and haven't been craving meat at all, but I have gained weight!
I'm pretty sure that this is because I didn't know what to eat and so just ate carbs and sugar all the time so I was wondering if I could have some help from you guys.
heres what I plan to eat from now on:
breakfast: fruit salad, coffee
lunch: greek salad
dinner: cooked vegetables
snacks: dried fruit, nuts
I NEED to lose 5 kilos in two months because i am performing on stage, any suggestions/advice?

Current Music: hot chip

I've been a vegetarian for about 9 years now. A year from now I'll be studying over seas in Japan. I'm afraid there wont be much that I can eat, so I'm considering eating fish... but I'm afraid I'll get horribly ill/gain weight. etc.

Suggestions?

Hi all,

I posted last Sept. about being a vegetarian for about 6 weeks. Well, I've stuck to it (other than the occasional piece of fish), and have lost 65 lbs since August. In addition, I've been taken off all diabetes medications (was on insulin, then replaced the insulin with oral meds, now nothing!), as well as blood pressure medication. Needless to say, I'm thrilled--and hooked! Other than the occasional fish, I don't have cravings for meat anymore, which is interesting. At this point, I don't mind that other people eat meat, I just don't care for the fat calories anymore. Needless to say, I'm feeling tons better! :-)

All the best,
Lesley

Hi all:)

My info: I'm Heidi, age 30, new mama. I'm 5 lbs lighter now than when I conceived Miss Mollyboo, but I have about 35-45 lbs to lose. I'm not sure what my goal is. Somewhere around 140-160 lbs. I'm 5'5", so you know.

My lifestyle: I'm a wannabe-crunchy-granola chick stuck partly in a fast food lazy ass lifestyle. I've been a (occasionally fish-eating) vegetarian for 7 or 8 years. I was vegan in the home but not when eating out when I met my carnivorous, McD's worshipping husband. We keep lots of fatty foods in the house, but are trying to do better. I'm cooking alot more and he'll add grilled meat or something to my veg. meals. I refuse to cook meat. Our baby is exclusively breastfed, which is great for her of course, but is probably the only reason I haven't blown up since her birth. Nursing makes me starving! I eat more noiw than I did pregnant, seriously.

My goals: I'd like to move toward a vegan lifestyle, but I just want to decrease my dairy fat and calorie intake now, and somehow find time (2 part time jobs and a baby = no life) to exercise. I'd like to get my hubby on board and get his blood pressure down. I want us to be good role models for Molly once she is old enough to eat actual food and understands what we are eating. (By the way, we have compromised that she'll eat organic hormone free meats when Daddy feeds her. I won't give her meat.)

This community looks like good support for my self-improvement goals, so yay:)

Hi, I'm Lesley, and I've been on a vegetarian diet for a little over 6 weeks, and it's amazing how much my health has improved! I've lost 27+ lbs so far, and my cbolesterol, blood sugars (I'm diabetic), and blood pressure have all gone down. (My diet is also low-sodium/no added salt.)

Until a month and a half ago, I was a real meat and potatoes (with cheese, lots and lots of cheese) gal. I still have cravings for meat and dairy, but so far I've resisted since started the diet. It's amazing how much more energy I have, even with the weight I'm still carrying.
